Though her character Katniss in the feverishly anticipated The Hunger Games is known for her brunette braid, Jennifer Lawrence is clearly making some strides to distance herself from the iconic heroine she's bound to be forever associated with, recently dying her hair back to blond.

Though Jennifer was still rocking Katniss' signature side braid at The Hunger Games U.S. Mall Tour Kick-Off in Los Angeles Saturday, the 21-year-old star sported noticeably lighter locks from her last public appearance announcing the Academy Award nominees in late January, signaling her return to her look pre-Hunger Games mania, when she was mainly known for her roles in X-Men: First Class and Winter's Bone.

While Jennifer's sassy real-life personality has always screamed more blonde bombshell to me than no-frills brunette (which was a main complaint from Hunger Games fans when it was announced she was cast in the role), this is one instance where the braid definitely looked better brown, no?

But as long as she doesn't go for something as drastic (or awful) as Kristen Stewart's Joan Jett mullet she sported post-Twilight, then I think we can all live with it!
