Helena Bonham Carter continuously finds herself on worst dressed lists thanks to her famously eccentric style, but in a new candid interview with her Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe for Interview magazine, she reveals some of the thought process that goes into her wacky wardrobe choices.

"All I'm into is dressing up. I love dressing up. It's like what we do for our job, get paid to dress up. So I carry on doing it in life, and I do put on a bit of clothing, and the clothing changes how I feel," she explains.

And surprisingly, she reveals that she isn't immune to the harsh criticism she's often subjected to.

"I think I transform into somebody else, and then you see the photo and go, 'That's so not what I meant ... ' It's the disappointment after. That's why I ceased to watch myself anymore because I go, 'It's still me!'"

Her most infamous red carpet "blunder" happened at the 2011 Golden Globes, when she made headlines pairing mismatched heels (one red, one green) with a wildly printed Vivienne Westwood gown.

She has no regrets.

"But you know, it was good because how do you do the carpet for an hour and half? So I thought, F*** it," she says. "I looked at the dress and I thought, It's not gonna be well received, so let's just distract. At least you've got some control, you know? ... F*** it is my guiding philosophy."

But it's Helena who had the last laugh -- her fashion faux pas directly led to a highly covetable gig representing Marc Jacobs that most actresses would kill for.

"Marc said, 'Let her wear different shoes,'" she says about the Fall 2011 campaign shot by famed fashion photographer Juergen Teller. "Juergen Teller is a great photographer. He's brilliant."
