Amy Poehler is undeniably hilarious, but who knew she could be so sweet too?

Amy recently fielded a question from a 14-year-old girl on her video series "Ask Amy" on her Smart Girls Channel on YouTube, who wants to wear makeup like her friends but her dad won't let her.

But instead of trivializing her clearly teenage problem or just flat-out discouraging her, Amy comes off as the older sister we all wish we had.

"Well this is a tough one because I understand that you want to wear makeup like your friends, and by the way, I know -- I can tell you're so pretty, you don't even need it, and I think pretty much every 14-year-old is so pretty they don't need it -- but if you want to wear it and everyone else is and you're not, I understand that feeling of being left out," she says kindly before offering up tips to gently compromise with her father.

And she also makes this fair point.

"In the meantime, guys don't like girls that wear a lot of makeup. They don't want stuff dripping off them, on them. And you have your whole life to wear a lot of makeup, and I bet your 14-year-old skin is beautiful, and I bet you look great without it."
