Is this the Scariest Face in Fashion?

Harald Gloeoeckler

What do you get when you mix Prince with Liza Minnelli – garish German designer Harald Gloeoeckler! On September 4, the designer and TV personality went all out on the make-up to present his first chocolate collection "Gloeoeckler Pralinoeoes" in Berlin, Germany. With a wild ensemble, clownish make-up and gleeful looks, Gloeoeckler made it clear he was not your average candy maker. Gloeoeckler ain't no Willy Wonka!

Can you see candy-crazed German children following Gloeoeckler around the streets of Berlin like Wonka, delighting his entranced sugar-loving flock? Nope. I can't – because he is terrifying! Even Augustus Gloop would probably stay away! If Gloeoecker was in any candy shop, kids would probably be run and hide under their couches, right next to me.

While lesser known in the US, Gloeoeckler is famous throughout Germany and Europe for his fashion line, over-the-top personality and outrageous ensembles – he tends to look like a disco ball on crack. In 2010, he was a judge on Germany version of Dancing with the Stars, Let's Dance, and some refer to him as the answer to Gianni Versace and the man who may become successor to Karl Lagerfeld (probably by himself). Others believe that Gloeoeckler was the inspiration for Sacha Baron Cohen's "Bruno" character. But I personally like to think of him as the scariest face in fashion. Do you agree? Yay or nay?
