The 18-year-old Disney starlet and Valderrama, 31, recently split after dating for the past several months, the New York Post reports.

A source told the Post that the couple's age difference played a big role in the breakup because it "meant they were in completely different places in their lives."

Lovato -- who most recently starred in Disney's "Sonny with a Chance" -- pulled out of her concert tour with the Jonas Brothers last November "to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues." Pictures of the young star emerged in January and a source confirmed to TheInsider.com at that time that she had completed her prescribed treatment.
