A rep for the 'Superman' star confirmed his engagement to People.com. Cavill reportedly popped the question to Whitaker -- a competitive British equestrian -- while they were on a trip to Hollywood. Whitaker tells the Belfast Telegraph: "I couldn't believe it when he asked me to marry him. I thought we were there to celebrate his birthday. It was such a surprise and I am so happy." Cavill is starring as Superman in 'Man of Steel,' the next installment of the popular superhero series set to release in December 2012.
