Michael Douglas will be attending a fundraiser to support the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Canada which diagnosed him with throat cancer last year. Douglas was misdiagnosed a number of times before the Canadian hospital discovered his throat cancer.
"It was his very gracious offer to help us in view of his own battle with throat cancer," said Dr. Saul Frenkiel, a co-chair of the fundraiser. "Certainly, Michael Douglas helps to bring to the attention of the public the need to do important research in the head and neck cancer field. We were very appreciative of his kind support."
The charity fundraiser will take place on May 3, 2011.
