Trash Talk: Lily Allen vs. RyanAir

It does not appear that Lily Allen is flying the friendly skies. The singer took to Twitter to unleash her fury at Ryanair, when the airline charged her £40 to print out her boarding pass while catching a flight to Belfast to launch her new clothing line.

She tweeted: "Ryan Air have just charged me 40 quid to print out my boarding pass. Unbelievable." And then she subsequently wrote, "Oh, and now they've taken it off of me. 40 pounds for a piece of paper that was mine for approx. 7 mins, wow…."

In Ryanair's defense it does say on their website that there is a £40 fee for losing your boarding pass -- but that price is just nuts! A fee of £40 is a pretty ridiculous sum to print something -- well unless there is gold in it (oh my gosh is there gold in the boarding passes!?) I can't lie, I miss the days of old, when you could check two bags (FOR FREE), you had your Salisbury steak meal delivered to you via cranky stewardesses pushing carts that awkwardly lurched down the aisles, and you were able to uncomfortably rest your weary eyes on crunchy pillows -- which was all included in the price of your ticket. Those were golden times, my friends, golden times. I'm still furious every time I fly and there is a fee for checking a bag. I mean $25 (and sometimes $35) to check a bag!? Who is going anywhere without luggage? My answer: escaped convicts, people fleeing the country for tax evasion and orphaned children! And that is it! (Can you tell I am bitter since I tend to over pack?)

So boo to airlines for their hidden costs and yay to Lily Allen for giving them a good razzing for it. Next time I try to check my bag -- I may just have to set Kevin Smith on them.
