The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards is just around the corner, and The Insider is giving you an inside look at one of the night's most reveled gatherings, the Governors Ball!
The L.A. Convention Center's West Hall is once again being transformed for the grand afterparty, with mod illusions being this year's decor theme. Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what that is either, but event producer Cheryl Cecchetto is betting on a spectacular evening with the addition of live performers and animation, more theatrical if you will (maybe that's what that means?). She, along with Sequoia Productions outfit has got it all figured out, and with Patina Catering providing the fine dining, something tells me the guests might even remember this ball more than the Emmy ceremony. Ok, maybe not, but it'll give it a run for its money.
To top things off, Governors Ball sponsor Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) has created a custom 27 liter bottle of their flagship wine, Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, especially for the occasion! It will serve as the unofficial “guest book,” but I’m sure people would rather drink from it (it can hold the equivalent of 38 wine bottles!) than sign it, but then again, this is the Governors Ball, not a kegger. For more info on the enormous bottle, and how you can bid on it (!), check out the Emmy Foundation website.
