Dina: Lindsay's Morgue Duty is 'Traumatizing'
November 03, 2011
Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to six days in jail and more morgue duty by the court on Wednesday, and now her mother Dina Lohan reveals stark details to The Insider's Christina McLarty about the L.A. County coroner's office community service -- as well as Lindsay's upcoming spread for Playboy.
"She witnessed a lot of things that were traumatizing," reports Dina about the harsh realities Lindsay has experienced at the morgue. "But certainly we're at a fortunate place; I worked so hard to get to where we are, and there are so many people dealing with far worse than I'm dealing with, so I really can't cry in my life, because my kids are healthy and happy and there are so many other people that aren't. So we just have to grab our blessings when we can."
Dina adds, "Everyone at the morgue has been so kind to her."
Of seeing her daughter repeatedly in court, Dina says, "We just want to put this behind us, and whatever the judge asks of her, we will comply. … It's been four years of torture … we just want this over.
As for Lindsay's Playboy pictorial, Dina says, "It was an opportunity for her. … She's 25 years old now, so it was her ultimate decision. … It will be tastefully done. … I've seen [the photos]. … She's really great in front of the camera."
Dina confirms that she is writing a tell-all book with "the real story, so that people don't believe all the ridiculousness." She adds, "You'll be floored when you read it. It's not about Lindsay and her life; it's about a mother surviving abuse and adversity."
Asked if she's proud of the way Lindsay has handled the obstacles in her life, Dina replies, "Absolutely. She's way stronger than me. … We have good karma, I believe in that, so I think we're going to be okay."
