Lady Gaga has announced that she will launch her new charity, the Born this Way Foundation, in 2012. The aim of the foundation is to empower youth and lead them to a brave new society where each individual is accepted and loved as the person they were born to be.
The foundation will be directed by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta. Partnering with the Foundation will be The John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and The California Endowment.
Speaking on the formation of her foundation, Gaga said, "My mother and I have initiated a passion project, we call it the Born This Way Foundation. Together we hope to establish a standard of bravery and kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment."
