Rapper Heavy D Dead at 44
Rapper Heavy D has passed away today at the age of 44.
The rapper, born Dwight Arrington Myers, was rushed to L.A. area's Cedars Sinai Hospital after being found near his Beverly Hills home earlier today. He was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. His cause of death is currently unknown.
Heavy D, known for his large physical stature and classic hits like Is It Good to You and Nuttin' But Love, was considered one of the first crossover hip hop artists to enjoy major success, having wrote the theme song for the popular '90s sketch show In Living Color and even appearing in television shows and movies like Life, Law & Order: SVU and Tower Heist, which just arrived in theaters.
