Ashton Kutcher on Relationships & Failure
November 18, 2011
As Ashton Kutcher deals with Thursday's public announcement that Demi Moore is filing for divorce, we examine comments the Two and a Half Men star made beforehand on women and relationships.
When asked by Women's Health to reveal the best relationship advice he's ever received, Kutcher responds: "I think it's all about working on the relationship and making it better…when it's good. Don't wait for a problem to work on things. The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship."
The star was also asked what type of woman he could never be with. "Wow, that's tough. I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me." He added his view on what intrigues him about women: "Everything surprises me and enchants me. The thing that enchants me the most is the ability women have to feel other people's pain. The total empathy that women have is extraordinary."
When asked to describe his most alpha quality, Kutcher responds: "I would say probably my most alpha quality is my competitive nature. I'm very competitive, and it tends to bring out very much the man in me."
Kutcher is also featured on the December cover of Men's Health -- on newsstands November 22 -- and opens up to that magazine on his feelings about failure. "I'm relatively scared of failure. But I just don't see it as something that's inevitable."
