Queen Latifah: I'm Adopting
By CLAUDIA GREENE
November 18, 2011
Can you imagine the Queen changing diapers?
Well, it's about to happen because Queen Latifah opens up about her plan to adopt in the latest issue of More Magazine.
"I'm definitely going to adopt - or have - a child," she says. "I've wanted to adopt since I was 17 or 18-years-old. I think the most important thing I've learned is to not stop living." A lesson her brother's death in 1992 really drove home. "I know for a fact that my brother would not want me to stay right there, stuck in that misery. If the person who you lost loved you like you loved them? There's no way they would not want you to live your life to the maximum, to appreciate it, to go for your dreams, go for your goals."
A baby will add to an already busy 2012 for Latifah, who not only has a new talk show debuting, but also stars alongside Dolly Parton in the gospel choir film Joyful Noise -- a sound she better appreciate before a baby comes into her life. Congrats!
