Guy Ritchie: Madonna Marriage Was A Soap Opera

Madonna's ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, is now talking about the dissolution of his eight-year marriage to the world's top-selling female recording artist.
In an interview with Details for the December/January issue, the 43-year-old Brit discusses what he took away from his relationship with Madonna.
"It's definitely not something I regret. The experience was ultimately very positive. I love the kids that came out of it, and I could see no other route to take," Richtie said.
As the interview continued, the Sherlock Holmes director spoke more negatively about the relationship. "I stepped into a soap opera, and I lived in it for quite a long period of my life."
Ritchie and Madonna married in 2000 but announced their divorce in 2008, citing unreasonable behavior.
When asked what he learned from the marriage, Ritchie revealed, "When you end up with a lot of the things you set out to chase and find that you've stumbled into all sorts of hollow victories, then you become deeply philosophical. I'm quite happy that that experience was accelerated for me. I'm glad I made money, in other words. And I'm glad I got married."
Ritchie reportedly made around $100 million in the divorce settlement, including ownership of a London pub and large estate in England.
