Five Things You Don't Know About Mark Wahlberg
January 13, 2012
You know about his early hip-hop past with Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and he'll always be remembered for bearing nearly all in underwear ads for Calvin Klein. Here are five things you probably don't know about Mark Wahlberg, star of the new action flick Contraband.
1. Born June 5, 1971, in Boston, MA, he's of Swedish, Irish, German and French-Canadian descent.
2. He once had seven tattoos -- including one of Sylvester the Cat eating Tweety Bird on his ankle -- but recently told David Letterman he is currently undergoing treatments to get them all removed.
3. While doing a brief jail stint as a teen, got some street cred when his brother -- New Kids On the Block singer Donnie -- came to visit. "I showed him off to everybody and I was the cool guy in the unit for a week."
4. Says there's only one person who could get him to rap today -- Justin Bieber. "I'd do that for my daughter."
5. Originally cast as Linus Caldwell in Ocean's Eleven, but dropped out and the part eventually went to Matt Damon.
