In a sit-down with The Insider's Kevin Frazier on Tuesday, Seal bared his true feelings about the end of his marriage with Heidi Klum, rumors that he has issues with anger management and his new album Soul 2.

Seal & Heidi Klum Head to Splitsville

The singer had scheduled this interview prior to the news of his split with the intent of discussing Soul 2. He decided to keep the appointment even in light of his recent turmoil.

"To tell you the truth, it just so happens that this is all kind of come out and been leaked the week that I happened to be promoting an album, which I'd rather not be doing," Seal admitted. "I [Heidi and I] would much rather be dealing with this behind closed doors, as we've never really been people who air their laundry in public."

Despite the "incredible respect" that Seal and Heidi still hold for each other, Seal acknowledged, "Unfortunately, as is the case with a lot of things, it just didn't work out."

Five Things You Don't Know About Heidi Klum

Seal tackled this tender subject with a soft-spoken tenderness that would run contrary to internet rumors that the singer has "anger management" issues.

"I see you as a gentle person," said Kevin, baffled by the allegations. "Why are people trying to make it like you're this angry person?"

Seal admitted that he was surprised by the rumors until he remembered an isolated incident when he was trying to protect his child from an aggressive member of the paparazzi.

"I may have turned around and raised my voice," said Seal, who explained that his son had been struck on the head with a camera lens.

Seal revealed that he is proud of the way that he and his estranged wife have addressed their separation where it concerns their children, saying, "[The kids] are doing as well as can be expected ... That is one of the areas where [Heidi and I] are a complete team."
