The Insider recently made a trip to the set of Southland to get a behind-the-scenes peek and catch up with star Regina King, who will serve as this weekend's SAG Awards' social media ambassador.
King will reveal a "blow-by-blow of what happens on the road to the awards" to her Twitter audience from the dressing room to the ceremony itself this Sunday (Jan. 29).
"I'm a pretty positive chick," King stated. "So, I think I was the right girl for the job."
While King probably wouldn't say the same about her Southland character, Lydia, she revealed that her character will start to genuinely brighten up with the introduction of a new character to the show.
"The cool thing about Dorian Missick ("Ruben") coming on—we're finding places where Lydia is having more fun and it's honest to who she is."
Southland airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on TNT.
