'Modern Family' Stars Celebrate Prop 8 Ruling
February 07, 2012
After a federal appeals court ruled California's ban on same-sex marriage to be unconstitutional on Tuesday, Modern Family stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet celebrated via Twitter.
In a picture posted to Jesse's Twitter account, the actors, who play a gay couple on ABC's Emmy-winning sitcom, are featured standing in front of an American flag and holding a sign that reads, "How could you NOT want to see us tie the knot?"

The ruling could potentially affect the storyline of the show's upcoming seasons. We'll just have to wait and see.
The ban, Proposition 8, was approved in 2008. The court called it unconstitutional after concluding that the law served no purpose other than to deny gay couples marriage, therefore singling out a minority group for disparate treatment.
