For this Pop Culture Rewind we take you back to the early days of Leonardo DiCaprio, just after the immense success of Titanic to an interview 14 years ago on this day for The Man in the Iron Mask, in which he starred as King Louis XIV.
DiCaprio, joined by co-stars Gabriel Byrne and Gérard Depardieu, discusses how he is handling his newfound fame and recounts an incident in which he was chased by a mob of girls through the Louvre museum in Paris.
The 23-year-old actor also discusses his eloquently expressed views on whether or not he sees himself as a sex symbol, trying to remain humble in the midst of girls around the world swooning over him—and chasing him through museums.
Check out the full flashback of the young yet well-composed DiCaprio above.
