Endorsements by celebrities including Katie Holmes, Oprah Winfrey, Blake Lively and Katy Perry have made Sprinkles cupcakes one of the hottest-selling treats in Hollywood. Now, the company is making it even easier for people to get their cupcake fix at all hours -- and without the crowds -- by launching new ATM-type dispensing machines.

Sprinkles founder Candace Nelson -- who also serves as a pastry chef and judge on the Food Network's Cupcake Wars -- says she came up with the idea for the cupcake ATM while she was pregnant with her second child. "I thought to myself, I'm the owner of a cupcake bakery and even I can't get a cupcake in the middle of the night. So I had to come up with something."

The first machine -- which operates just like a bank ATM -- has been installed in Beverly Hills next to the flagship Sprinkles store and there are plans to launch dispensers in other major U.S. cities throughout the year. The machines -- which dispense individually boxed cupcakes -- will also be stocked with special treats for dogs, as well as cake mixes and apparel.
