The high school girl is 18 years old, so her relationship with her teacher is technically not illegal, and though they deny it to Dr. Phil, he says he finds it hard to believe that their relationship didn't begin before the girl was a legal adult.
"I personally don't believe that this is a relationship that didn't start until [she was] 18," Dr. Phil said, citing evidence that the two were in possible inappropriate contact prior to her status as a legal adult.
