Seacrest Victim of Oscars Prank

"I've worked with E! for years, and NBC Universal & E! are the same family," Seacrest said. "The plan is for me to join the NBC family. The first assignment will be for me to join the Olympics, [covering] for NBC. I've been very much looking forward to it. I'll be doing a lot of fun things with NBC, and this is the start of it.

Not content with his vague-ness, Matt Lauer kept pressing about the elephant in the room -- does Seacrest have eyes on his Today show seat? "I don't know. I see you doing this for as long as you want to. So I guess the question is, how long will you be on the Today show [Matt]," he asked to a room full of laughs.

But fret not Idol fans, this doesn't mean he's giving up his night job. "I plan to stay there – I think there will be an official announcement very soon. It's a circus to run, but I love it," he said, adding, "I'm used to juggling a whole bunch of things."
