The comedian claims the honorable distinction this year thanks to his digital-only release of stand-up special Louis C.K. - Live at the Beacon Theater, which earned more than $1 million in two weeks at just $5 a pop.
Sharing the spotlight with Webby Actresses of the Year are Graydon Sheppard and Juliette Lewis for their YouTube series Shit Girls Say, which became a viral phenomenon spawning a never-ending outpour of imitators in the past year. It should be also noted that Sheppard is a dude.
Funny Or Die scored a double-whammy picking up an award for Drunk History Christmas featuring Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. FOD's co-founder Will Ferrell also won an award for his impersonation of President George W. Bush reacting to Osama Bin Laden's death.
Icelandic singer Bjork was named artist of the year for her app album, Biophilia, and Instagram was deemed Webby breakout of the year.
