Not one to shy away from uncomfortable topics, Lisa Rinna brings her honest, fun-loving attitude to The Insider for a no-holds-barred interview regarding her post-partum depression and how the difficult period led her on the road to improving her sex life with husband Harry Hamlin.
"Who would've ever thought that I would write a sex book? I mean, really," laughs Rinna about her current, racy self help venture entitled TheBigFunSexySex, in stores now. Co-written with sex therapist Ian Kerner, the book is chock full of tips and tricks to keep any marriage hot.

Back in 1998, the Days of our Lives star suffered from terrible post partum depression following the birth of her first daughter Delilah and it was at this point that the actress says she hit rock bottom, so to speak, eventually finding solace in sharing her story with others. 2008's Rinnavation started that ball rolling.
"I wrote a chapter about sex and my losing my sex drive-- like completely losing my mojo after having postpartum depression. So I talk about how I went on a mission to get it back," she recalls. "I mean, let's face it, everybody gets into a rut nobody wants to talk about it. No one's open with their partners, we all live in shame. I mean I could go on and on and on forever, if this book just opens a dialogue with your partner and you can somehow reconnect and get that intimacy back, we've done our job.''
Rinna credits communication and, most importantly, an open mind to keeping the fire alive, telling us she isn't afraid to break out a costume or two to keep things spicy.

"There's nothing like a stripper heel," she says with a devilish smile, "that opened up a Pandora's box for me and it gave me permission to have fun and to go to trashy lingerie and get a nurse's outfit, cop, I mean you can do all kinds of things. It's so much fun!"
