After working as a production assistant on the MTV show Pimp my Ride, Dane decided that he didn't want to pursue a career in television.
"It wasn't me," said Dane. "I wanted to be creative and do things my own way."
Dane's way turned out to be extremely lucrative. After his initial videos went viral, YouTube's owner, Google, offered Dane a partnership where he could share in the advertising revenue generated from his videos. Dane reportedly made over $300,000 the first year as an advertising share partner.
Now the web series is expanding into a media empire that includes video games, merchandise and a show on Cartoon Network set to premiere in June.
