What likely began as one of the coolest days of David Beckham's life ended with a bit of an ego bruising, courtesy of President Barack Obama.

It all went down at the White House on Tuesday as David Beckham's team, The Los Angeles Galaxy, celebrated their third Major League Soccer Cup.

After congratulating the lot on their accomplishment, the president singled out 37-year-old Beckham for the significant age difference between his teammates, joking they could "be his kids." He quipped, "We're getting old, David."

To the delight of the crowd, the president continued to rib the hunky soccer star-- this time for his, erm, impressive campaign for David Beckham skivvies. "He is tough. In fact, it is a rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear…David Beckham is that man."

In the end it was no harm, no foul. The two posed for photos together, with Obama proudly displaying his very own, customized team jersey.
