Janice Dickinson: 'I Wish I Wasn't Famous'
May 24, 2012
Amid rumors of her eviction, former supermodel and current reality television star Janice Dickinson sat down with The Insider to set the record straight about it all and give her honest opinion on the website that reported the news.
"TMZ has been hounding me lately about something personal that's going on with me," Dickinson said. "Yes, I was late with my rent and I was really upset about being late with my rent...I'm not being evicted, OK? I was having a little banter about some plumbing issues and the heating...It is now fixed. My rent's been fixed."
Dickinson revealed that after the story was published about her alleged eviction, her children began to worry. "They're very, very upset about this," she said. "When my children get upset, there's only so much I can take. So, I had a nervous attack."
The 57-year-old, who currently hosts a web show, was honest about her financial standing, which she admitted has been better in the past. "I'll be straight-up, it is a nasty economic time that I'm going through along with the rest of the world...I got overloaded and I got backed-up on my bills. Some jobs got canceled for me but I'm still here and I'm doing the best I can."
Dickinson cited public humiliation as the biggest issue for her in the matter, as she has been bombarded by reporters about the alleged eviction in the past week.
While she agreed that increased media attention comes with the territory of being a celebrity, she said she'd rather not be famous then be subjected to media bombardment. "I wish I wasn't famous," she said. "I wish I would go along anonymously but that's not going to happen for me. I'm everywhere and [I'm] stuck with it."
