It's no secret that celebrities receive special treatment, but keep a safe distance when that A-list status is revoked -- especially when the star in question is Lil' Wayne.

Last night, the rap superstar Tweeted that he was turned away from a Thunder vs. Spurs game in Oklahoma. "Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs," he wrote.

Lil Wayne's record label president Mack Maine told MTV News that he tried to secure courtside seats with a broker but turned to the Thunder after having difficulties getting the high profile seats. "They said they’ll give him some tickets on the front row behind, but they're not really tryin' to have him sittin' courtside," Maine said.

But Dan Mahoney, spokesman for the Oklahoma City Thunder, tells The Insider, "Lil Wayne's reps did contact the team requesting tickets in advance but they insisted that he sit courtside. They were informed none of those seats were available, and they opted not to attend."

Dan adds that they "would not displace faithful season ticket holders", and it's not because they don't want Lil Wayne there -- "it's just good customer service." But if Wayne decides to revert his loyalty to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Dan says, "We'd love to have him at a game -- he's welcome here, but like anyone else, he needs a ticket."
