Kevin Hart: Leave Tom and Katie Alone

At the BET Awards, where he won the award for Best Actor, comedian and Think Like a Man star Kevin Hart shared his thoughts with The Insider about the media commotion surrounding Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce.

"[Divorce] happens every day. I just got divorced. It's not that serious," Hart said, downplaying the stars' divorce. "They're people. It's a problem. It's what happens in relationships...They're human...It's done...They'll both be happy somehow, someway. Life doesn't stop."

Having been through a divorce himself last year, Hart encouraged others to back off of Tom and Katie and give them their personal space. "Leave 'em alone," he said. "They're going through something. It's not that serious. Let it go."

As for his personal accolade on the night, Hart said that he wasn't expecting to receive the Best Actor award and joked about it getting taken away.

"I still don't believe it's true. I still think that somebody's going to come and take it from," he said. "I think Denzel is going to come walk from around the corner and say, 'Hey, man, I was just jivin' you' and he's going to take my award."

On a more sobering note, the awards show made a tribute to the late Whitney Houston, which her closest friends said they were content with the way it was carried out.

"It was touching; it was special...It was emotional," said Houston's close friend, singer Ray J. "When you love somebody and you care about somebody, you have to represent that, and that's all we've been doing."

Ray J revealed that he is still trying to find peace over Houston's death in February. "I'm hurt but I'm trying to be understanding," he said.
