Lindsay Lohan's fans were given a scare when it was discovered last month that she had a health-related incident on the set of her new television project Liz & Dick. In an interview with In the Mixx, Lindsay's mom Dina elaborates on the incident.

"She's working 21 hours a day," Lohan said of her daughter's on-set exhaustion incident. "This is a TV story so they don't have as much funding, so they have to work long hours...She's transforming herself into another person [with] wigs and hair and make-up and jewelry."

She added that Lindsay's elaborate daily transformation into Elizabeth Taylor for the made-for-television movie is rushed in comparison to how it would be done on the set of a feature film, which creates a different atmosphere.

"They only give her four hours. On a feature film, you'd get eight," Lohan said. "Television works a lot."

The mother of four assured that, even though the work is tough, Lindsay is still enjoying playing the role of Elizabeth Taylor. "To play Elizabeth Taylor, it's a dream," she said. "Any actor would want to do that."

Although Lindsay didn't have the chance to meet Taylor before she passed away in March 2011, her mom revealed that they had a special connection through a ring that Taylor sent her out of affection.

"They didn't meet. She just sent her [a ring] because she just loved Lindsay. It was weird," she said. "So, [Elizabeth] is looking down on her."

Liz & Dick is scheduled to air this fall on Lifetime.
