As a result of those trials and tribulations, I feel inappropriately invested in Jennie's happiness. So news of her divorce from Peter Facinelli left me feeling sadder than I had any right to be given the fact I know neither of them. Such is the power of celebrity.

I'm now having an equally inappropriate reaction to news that Jennie's found an unexpected source of strength during her divorce: Luke Perry.

"Luke has been one of my friends who I can call and talk about stuff and has been through something himself," Jennie tells In Touch of her former on-screen lover, who split with his wife in 2003.

And if there's anything television has taught me about the rock that helps you weather a storm it's that you end up making out with the rock. Big time. So, yes, in my mind, Jennie and Luke's inevitable relationship will not only validate the fanfic I've been not-so-secretly writing for years, but also give Kelly, errrr, Jennie the happy ending she richly deserves.

Just don't get a cat with Luke. They're more trouble than they're worth.
