Journey Gets $500k to Play VIP Republican Bash

Longtime Journey rocker Neal Schon is headed to Tampa, FL with his band and girlfriend Michaele Salahi to play a private party on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention that Neal says will pay him $500,000.
Neal confirmed to TheInsider.com the payment for the group's performance at a VIP fundraising event on Thursday evening, but emphasized: "We are NOT taking any political position -- we were just hired TO PLAY" at the RNC private party.

Neal said Journey will play Faith In The Heartland and other hits and he will perform his own version of The Star Spangled Banner.
The singer also confirmed that his "sweetheart" Michaele will attend the bash.
