Simon Cowell turned into a real life superhero last night when he saved nine people from a sinking yacht in St. Tropez.

According to London's Evening Standard, Simon and his ex-girlfriend Sinitta were on holiday when a distress call came over the radio and The X Factor mentor ordered the captain of his private ship to stage a rescue mission. Simon's rep confirmed the story to TheInsider.com.
