Family, friends and close Hollywood colleagues of Michael Clarke Duncan gathered Monday for a private funeral service for the actor who passed away last week at age 54.

The private ceremony -- which included remarks by Duncan's Green Mile co-star Tom Hanks and the film's director Frank Darabont -- followed a public viewing on Sunday of his casket at Forest Lawn cemetery's Hall of Liberty in Los Angeles.

Hanks told The Insider before going into the service that Duncan will forever be remembered for his sparking smile love of live. "He had a big laugh, a laugh as big as himself. And it was a genuine thing, he had a joy for living."

Also attending the service was the actor's fiancée -- reality star and ordained minister Omarosa Manigault, who reflected on the love of her life."You know, this is a celebration of life, so I'm just going to celebrate the life of this amazing human being - his laughter, his smile, his hugs, and his love," Manigault told The Insider.
