Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet was "taken out of the ball game" after he defended his Los Angeles Dodgers against a heckler.
"Stonestreet said something to the [St. Louis] Cardinals fan after the guy heckled a Dodgers player," sources told TMZ of the verbal altercation at Dodger Stadium.
The actor, 41, clarified what happened at the Saturday ball game, tweeting: "i did NOT get kicked out of the Dodgers game last night. did i get escorted to the top of the stairs by security? yes. yes i sure did."
The website adds that after Stonestreet spoke with security, he was allowed to return to his seat.
His showdown was not all in vain. The Dodgers beat the Cardinals 4-3.
