Green Day Singer Rehab-Bound
September 23, 2012
After a very public meltdown on stage at the 2012 iHeartRadio concert in Las Vegas last night, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has announced that he's checking into rehab to seek treatment for a substance abuse problem.
In a statement to The Associated Press, the band apologized for the incident and added that their set was not cut short by Clear Channel (who hosted the two-day festival).
During Saturday night's performance, Billie Joe cut a song short, saying he wanted to perform something new. He then launched into an expletive-laced rant when he saw that only one minute remained in his set. "I've been around since f*cking 1988. And you're going to give me one f*cking minute? You've gotta be f*cking kidding me. I'm not f*cking Justin Bieber, you mother f*ckers," he shouted before smashing his guitar on stage. Watch the incident above.
