Michael Phelps was rendered speechless Monday night, when he met his idol --  legendary basketball champ Michael Jordan.

"Got to meet my idol last night!! Golf time today!!!," he just tweeted alongside of a photo of the two, the gigantic smile on his face saying it all.

Both sports superstars are currently participating in the Ryder Cup at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois.

"I froze. That's the one person in the world who could do that to me," Phelps told the AP after Jordan surprised him during a taping of Feherty Live. "I literally have always looked up to him. ... He's the greatest."

The love was mutual.

"I'm truly honored and humbled that he's looked at me as a motivational figure," Jordan said.

Jordan, a well-known golf enthusiast, even extended an invitation to Phelps to play together.

"Anytime he's ready, I'm ready," he said. "Except getting in the pool. I cannot swim, so I am not getting in the pool."

The Feherty Live special will air Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.
