After a Cleveland bus driver alleged that Matthew Fox assaulted her last August (she has since withdrawn her lawsuit) and after his own Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan tweeted to a fan in May that "he [Matthew] beats women," Matthew says he has "never hit a woman" in his life in a new interview with Men's Fitness.

"In the 46 years I've been breathing on this planet, I have never hit a woman before. Never have, never will," he tells the magazine. "Out of all the negative s---, the only thing that's true is that I was arrested for a DUI."

As for his admitted DUI in May, he clearly has appeared to learn his lesson.

"I will bet you any amount of money that I will never get behind the wheel of a car after even one drink," he says. "The rest of it, the Cleveland situation, the Monaghan situation – was a pile of bulls**t, and I'm not gonna waste too much breath on that."

Still, he acknowledges that his reputation has been damaged by the serious claims.

"I think there's still gonna be a lot of people out there who'll think it's true no matter what," he says. "It's been a long, trying year of sitting on my hands on a lot of negative s--- said about me, when they're the furthest things from who I am."

Matthew can be seen next in Alex's Cross, which hits theaters this Friday.
