Kara DioGuardi Gives a Tour of Her L.A. Home
October 16, 2012
Kara DioGuardi has put her massive Hollywood Hills home on the market, and The Insider special correspondent Debbie Matenopoulos was given an exclusive, VIP tour of the breathtaking estate. Watch the clip for a glimpse at what a decade in the music business can get you.
Perhaps best known for judging beside Paula Abdul on American Idol, DioGuardi acquired her $25 million fortune by penning hits for music stars like Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, Enrique Iglesias and P!nk -- many of whom have created some memorable tunes in DioGuardi's home.
The sprawling property, listed with TheAgencyRe.com's Blair Chang and Andrea Korchek of Wish|Sotheby's Realty, ranks just under mansion status at 7,600 square feet. The three-story home is situated on the Valley side of the Hollywood Hills in the neighborhood of Studio City. Listed at $6,995,000, the French-style property features five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, a private pool and spa, an expansive view of city lights and enough parking space for 15 cars.
When she moved in to the house, built in 1923, DioGuardi faced a unique challenge: making changes while remaining true to the house. She managed to maintain the integrity of the home through the renovation process thanks largely to interior designer Fay Woodward, who operates out of the Quillian store on Melrose Ave.
After five years at this location, DioGuardi put her heart into this dream home, but the native New Yorker still has a piece of herself on the East Coast and plans to relocate there full time.
