Lindsay Lohan apparently didn't show for work on The Canyons today, and the film's writer Bret Easton Ellis was none too thrilled.

Ellis tweeted his annoyance with the troubled actress, 26, writing: "Patrick Bateman has just headed over to Lindsay Lohan's hotel to confront her as to why she missed her f***ing ADR on The Canyons today..." ADR stands for Automatic Dialog Replacement and is when an actor records lines to loop into an already shot scene.

The creepy joke in this tweet is that Patrick Bateman is the fictional serial killer in Ellis' novel American Psycho. He was played on the big screen by Christian Bale in 2000.

The Canyons is not to be released until 2013 and also stars porn actor James Deen. A teaser for the psycho-sexual film was released earlier this month.
