If this footage of Val Kilmer at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas over the weekend reminds you of Joaquin Phoenix's antics in I'm Still Here, you're not far off.

The actor hit the stage with Rooney Mara to perform with indie band The Black Lips, and that's when things got a little rowdy. "Do you wanna hear some Doors songs?" the actor, who played the band's frontman Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's 1991 film The Doors, asked the crowd (via Rolling Stone). "Well, you're 20 years too late. No Doors here. We have some windows . . . got some garage. But we've got no Doors." Kilmer, 52, even smashed a guitar during his performance.

This charade was apparently for a scene for Tree of Life director Terrence Malick's upcoming, untitled film project. The movie, which is reportedly about a love triangle in the Texas town's music scene, also stars Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman and Christian Bale ... to name a few.

It's no coincidence that Gosling was seen at last year's Fun Fun Fun Fest shooting scenes with Mara as well.

Needless to say, several onlookers tweeted about Kilmer and Mara's appearance on stage, with several videos popping up as well.
