The five-time NBA champ teamed up with Participant Media's new YouTube channel TakePart TV for a five-part web series called Mission. In the series, cameras follow Kobe as he tries to help get homeless families off the streets.
"I'm going to try and figure out the best way to get ya'll on your feet and get the opportunities you need to be getting," Kobe promises.
Before formulating a plan of attack, Kobe educated himself by going down to the Los Angeles Mission, listening to first-hand accounts from those still struggling with the issue.

Kobe says that he went down to the Mission with no expectations, but walked away inspired by the stories of four men in particular.
