Kim Kardashian only had her cat Mercy, a gift from her boyfriend Kanye West, a few months before he passed away. The reality star paid tribute to her furry friend in a blog post titled: "Rest In Peace, Little Mercy."

"It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you all that my kitten, Mercy, has passed away," she wrote. "My heart is completely broken."

Kardashian, 32, explains that after learning that she was allergic to cats, Mercy went to live with her sister Khloe's assistant, Sydney, who had recently lost a cat "she had loved and cared for 17 years." Then, Mercy got really sick. "They discovered she had a stomach problem that we weren’t aware of," Kardashian explains. "Her stomach had filled with fluid and the doctor said she had a rare stomach cancer and that there was nothing we could do for her. Poor little Mercy died the very next day."

She concluded the touching tribute to her cat, writing: "Mercy was a gentle and loving kitten and we are all going to miss her so much. Thanks to Sydney for making Mercy’s short life one filled with love. RIP Mercy Xo"
