Oh goodie, Chris Brown is speaking out!
"People are always gonna talk. But I'm in a positive place. I consider myself a grown-ass man," says the 21-year-old star in an interview with the New York Post's Page Six Magazine. Well said, Chris! Well said!
In addition to this statement, the self-proclaimed "grown-ass" star says he's done apologizing for his brutal attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Good for him!
Still, he goes on to complain that many people have just "turn[ed] away. They don't want to get involved with it because they don't want their name attached to anything negative. Unknowingly, they kind of show their true colors when they do that. You can't blame people for how they want to be portrayed or if they don't want to be associated with somebody who had a particular mishap."
Hmm ... a "mishap"? Like if someone spilled red wine on your favorite white dress, that kind of mishap?!
Newsflash: Apparently, Chris Brown knows something we don't. We, along with Dictionary.com, thought mishap meant "an unfortunate accident" or "bad luck" -- not pleading guilty to felony assault, being sentenced to serve five years probation and doing 1,400 hours of "labor-oriented service" for attacking your pop-star girlfriend. Silly us. Thanks for the tutorial Chris, and keep on keepin' it so real!
