Say What!? The Snoop Dogg Edition -- May 23, 2011
Snoop Dogg is filled with winning ideas!
While the oh-so-chill rapper was in London promoting his new album Doggumentary (I couldn't have named it better myself), he talked up a big game about how he wants to be the next Simon Cowell -- and do some talent spotting … in the hood. That's right, "the hood."
"The 'American Idol' and 'X Factor' shows, they're great shows," said 39-year-old Snoop. He went on to say, "But I think I need to make a show like that, that's straight directed to the hood. To the artists that don't get that attention, that don't have the money to make themselves representable. This raw talent and ability."
Just this weekend at the 2011 Billboard Awards in Las Vegas, Snoop once again talked of his desire to bring his spin to singing competition shows. The chronic-loving rapper told ET: "When you watch these shows that are TV made, they don't really go for that rock in-a-hard spot, they don't really go for that hood act, or that hard-core act. …There is always something that is not missing in the acts that they use. I want something that is missing. I want that imperfect act."
Everybody's gotta have a dream. Mine is to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida and Snoop's dream is take "Idol" to the streets. I hope we both get our wishes -- and soon.
But here's the best part of Snoop's recent epiphanies -- during a call to US TV networks, Snoop added another gem to his bucket list, he added, "I want to open up a chain of supermarkets, I want to call them Snoopermarkets."
SNOOPERMARKETS!????? ......... YES!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know about you guys but I eagerly the await the day when I can drive my Mystery Mobile chock full of giggling, glazed-over friends to the local Snoopermarket and pick us up some Honey BBQ Fritos Twists (Snoop's chip of choice) and Now and Laters (Snoop's candy of choice). Heck yeah!
