Come on, get 'Happy'
September 19, 2011
On Saturday, the cast of Happy Endings (a.k.a the best series you're not watching) took their ABC comedy to The Upright Citizens Brigade stage for a live variety show that approached legendary proportions.
Hosts Adam Pally and Casey Wilson promised a night for the history books and they did not lie. Things kicked with a live rendition of Adam's FunnyOrDie series, Riding Shotgun, where Elisha Cuthbert chilled in the navigator seat while It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney made a cameo in the back seat. There we learned that there are no Jewish hockey players, Dennis Haysbert used to manhandle her on the set of 24 and Christian Slater doesn't do blow in the morning. Later, Elisha also broke out a previously unknown skill: invisible hula hooping.
After that, Damon took to the stage for an inspired comedy routine that revealed why you never want to see a wizard's sleeve in bed. There were also a few classic video sketches and a shocking spurt of fanfic that saw Dave's feelings for Max rise to the occasion. But the evening's best moment came as Eliza Coupe played Claire Danes playing Temple Grandin, who wrote a song about a cow named Happy that didn't have a positive send-off. Thankfully, the whole video is now online, so click to play and find out why "I Think In Pictures" will be stuck in your head all damn day. Oh, also, that horrifying cackle totally doesn't belong to me. Swear.
