Melissa McCarthy Weaves A Good Yarn
September 30, 2011
Thanks to Bridesmaids and her wildly wonderful Emmy moment, the world now knows what Gilmore Girls, Samantha Who? and Go fans have known for years: Melissa McCarthy is a national treasure.
This weekend, the few stragglers who haven't yet jumped on her bandwagon have another opportunity to get on board as the Mike & Molly star hosts Saturday Night Live. An honor that did not go unnoticed in her life.
Or the lives of anyone in Melissa's near vicinity who watched her devolve into a sobbing puddle in the middle of a Living Social (and yes, that jingle is now stuck in my head too) when Lorne Michaels called her up and offered her the gig.
That was just one of the amazing stories Melissa recounted on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, proving that she weaves one hell of a good yarn. Another favorite moment came during a game of Girl Talk Jenga as Melissa revealed her longest running nightmare. Which I have also now adopted.
