When I spoke to Maya Rudolph back in January, the subject of hosting Saturday Night Live came up -- she said, "I'd love to! If and when that day ever comes, I think it would be so fun. Especially now that I still have friends in that cast – there's nothing better than playing with your friends."

Well, the time has come and Maya will play with her friends on this week's episode!
The first promo for her hosting gig has gone online, and while she doesn't make any mention of Whitney Houston (everyone's wondering if she'll reprise her signature impersonation), Maya does premiere some less successful new characters.
