Despite the show's serious tone, Weatherly is in the mood for some sarcastic humor and jokes about how he got the role on the show, implying that he extorted producer James Cameron (whom he refers to as "Jim") by kidnapping his children.

The then-31-year-old actor the recounts his weekly encounter with airport security officials, claiming that he gets groped by them because of his light travel and then revealing that he is dating a Canadian customs officer.

Weatherly continues with the comedy when co-star Jessica Alba interrupts the interview.

"We were just talking about how you're not actually a human being [and] that you're a robot that James Cameron created with all the money he made from Titanic," he jokes with the then-18-year-old actress, who played a genetically-enhanced transgenic super-soldier on the show.
